| PROPERTY INFORMATION
This site provides a unique development opportunity in the popular tourist village of Ventry, West Kerry. Situated in the heart of the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht it is positioned on the Slea Head Drive and just 6km from Dingle. It commands beautiful views of nearby Ventry Harbour, it’s 2 mile beach and the majestic Mt. Eagle.
The 0.1 hectare site can potentially accommodate 4 terraced houses (see picture below) with private access and on site car parking or a commercial development subject to Planning Permission.
The site is adjacent to shops, restaurants, schools, and public houses and a short walk to the beach. Nearby amenities include horse riding, fishing boat hire, walking treks, archaeological sites. It is 5km from the Ceann Sibéal Links Course and 55km from Kerry International Airport.
Ventry itself is a small village four miles west of Dingle. It is unusual in that it has two centres of commerce, both comprised of a pub and a shop. One has the Catholic church, and the other, in true balance, has the primary school.
Ventry's sheltered harbour and three miles of sandy beach make it one of the most attractive and safest beaches on the west coast of Ireland. Safe swimming, windsurfing, canoeing, diving and sunbathing can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Jamie Knox's Focus Windsurfing School, based in Castlegregory, has equipment available for hire right at Ventry Beach, as well as offers tuition and conducts a Watersports Adventure Club during July and August for kids and teens.
There are many wonderful walks in Ventry and its surrounding area. The Dingle Way passes through Ventry, up Caherard Hill and then down to and along Ventry Beach before going on to Dunquin. Several locally produced guides and other books are available describing walks in Ventry.
Horseriding is available during the summer months on the beach, and "Dingle Horseriding" offer a half-day trek from Dingle town to Ventry Beach and back again.
During the summer, the local pubs, the Skipper Restaurant and Penny's Pottery Cafe offer a choice of good food throughout the day and evening.
The Dingle Way is one of Ireland's 32 long-distance walking trails. Situated in the south-west of the country, the walk completes a circuit of the Dingle Peninsula, starting and finishing in the capital of Kerry - Tralee. The trail is 179km long and takes an adult who is reasonably fit an average of 8-9 days to walk.
Part of the reason why the Dingle Way is so popular is because of its great diversity of scenery. It never takes long before a turn in the path reveals a dramatic change in landscape. From walking in the foothills of Slieve Mish to crossing the shoulder of Mount Brandon, from the crashing waves of the Atlantic at Slea Head to the tranquil setting of pastoral farmland and on to lonesome strands of golden beach, the Dingle Way invigorates the senses.
This is therefore an ideally located site for development in a beautiful part of Ireland. Close too all modern amenities while still being a stone's throw away from the peace and beauty of the Kerry countryside. Ideal for young families and vacationers families alike.
The development oppurtunity is immense in this fantastic location, whether building family homes or holiday accomodation, and is by no means a hard sell. This site must be viewed to be appreciated, so do set up a viewing with John and judge the area's development potential for yourself, you won't regret it!
